Suicide is another pandemic we are facing in the world, day in and day out we read about it and hear about it in the news too. It seems like there is no stop to it and it gets worse by the year. The number one contributing factor to suicide is depression.
People are so depressed in this world and it gets so bad to the point they commit suicide. It all weighs down on them and the only solution they have is to end it all. It is really sad honestly that they see death as the solution.
Depression affects everyone it doesn't choose who you are. The other thing that shocks people is that even celebrities who have their lives and careers in order also suffer from depression to the point to of committing suicide too.
It is shocking to most people because they are successful and have all the money in the world and they don't see such a person getting depressed.
Now these are the celebrities who were diagnosed with depression and ended their lives.
- Jabulani Tsambo (Hip Hop Pantsula- HHP)
Tsambo was discovered dead in his Johannesburg home on 24 October 2018. The tabloid Celeb Gossip South Africa reported that he had committed suicide in what was his fourth attempt following three in 2015.
- Patrick Shai
According to police, the late actor Patrick Shai committed suicide, and his wife found his body in the garage of his Dobsonville residence.
- Anele Tembe
Nellie Tembe, the 23 year-old fiancé of the superstar rapper AKA died on Sunday after falling from the 10th floor of a Cape Town hotel
- Riky Rick
The accomplished musician, whose true name is Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, allegedly committed suicide at his estate home in the north of Joburg on Wednesday morning (23/02/2022).
- Christopher Khubeka
He died on 12 June 2017 at the age of 48 after committing suicide by hanging in his home at Soshanguve, Pretoria.
- Nichume Siwundla
Despite the fact that many celebrities have spoken openly about their battles with depression, people rarely have candid, quick conversations about it before someone passes away. We should all work together to create safe spaces for persons suffering from mental illnesses.
